Of the three main travel insurance plans offered by Travel Insured International, the provider’s Worldwide Trip Protector Plus Plan offers the most coverage. It includes all of the company’s standard coverages, options that you can add and a 24-hour assistance hotline.
Trip Cancellations or Interruptions
The plan’s unique feature is the automatic inclusion of coverage for any trip interruption reason. In addition, this part of the plan is available for 72 hours or more after the date of your departure. If you need to suspend your trip for a reason that isn’t covered under another section of the policy, the plan will reimburse you for up to 75 percent of the unused portion of your trip.
You can also add coverage that will reimburse you for up to 75 percent of your trip if you need to cancel it for any reason. To add this level of protection, you’ll need to buy the plan within 21 days of paying your trip deposit. As you begin shopping for trip insurance, be sure to compare plans. By taking this step, you’ll ensure that you’re getting the one that you need.
Medical Coverage
Under the Worldwide Trip Protector Plus Plan, the medical coverage portion of the program will become your main insurance during your vacation. A supplemental plan is not needed. If you or another covered member of your travel party becomes ill or injured, you will be covered. The plan does limit the medical coverage to $100,000. Before your trip, be sure to read the terms and conditions of the plan’s coverage, so you’ll know what to expect and how to make a claim.
Travel Assistance Service
When you sign up for the Trip Protector Plus Plan, you’ll have access to the company’s flexible assistance service, which is available 24 hours a day. Call the line when you need concierge services, a medical referral or help managing a medical evacuation.
Additional Plan Features
For luggage, the plan will reimburse you for up to $1,000 for lost bags and $300 when bags are delayed. To receive compensation for a delay, your bags must be missing for 12 hours or more. This plan features a pre-existing conditions waiver. It’s available if you meet the company’s criteria and purchase the travel insurance within 21 days of making your first vacation deposit.
Taking Precautions
With the right plan, you’ll have comprehensive trip insurance that covers you when life circumstances cause vacation cancellations. Travel insurance even protects you against lost or delayed bags as well as when interruptions affect your trip. Gain peace of mind with insurance.
