The Global Trip Protection Group Pro plan is the more inclusive group travel insurance option from the company’s two plan choices. If you are shopping for comprehensive trip insurance for 10 or more travelers, this plan may be the right choice.
Benefits Of The Pro Plan
In comparison with the Essential plan, the Pro plan may cover more than the actual trip cost in the event of an interruption. There are higher maximum allowances for everything from lost baggage to emergency medical care. While the Essential plan does not include coverage for accidental death and dismemberment, the Pro plan does. You can cover your sports equipment with an add-on option, and you also have the option to add a provision to cover all cancellation costs for any reason. These options are not available with the Essential plan.
Drawbacks Of The Pro Plan
When you pay for coverage on the Pro tier, the premium is higher than it is for the Essential plan. Also, add-on items are not included in your original quote. As you add them on, you will see your quote rise. If you plan to travel with a group of nine or fewer travelers, you do not qualify for the Pro or Essential plan. You must have a minimum of 10 travelers.
What The Pro Plan Includes
The Pro plan covers up to 100 percent of the trip’s cost if you have to cancel (for a covered reason) and up to 150 percent for trip interruption. For return only trip interruption (meaning if you used $0 as your trip cost when quoting), the plan includes $750 per person for airfare costs related to interruptions. There is a maximum of $500 per person for missed connections after a minimum of three hours. Trip delays are covered at $200 per day after at least six hours. The plan includes evacuation and repatriation costs up to $500,000, and emergency medical care is covered up to $50,000. The limit for dental care is $750 from the total medical allowance. The plan also includes the following features:
- Up to $1,000 for lost baggage
- Up to $300 for delayed baggage
- Accidental death and dismemberment up to $10,000
- Business assistance
- Global travel assistance
- Concierge service
- Security services up to $100,000
If you plan to rent a vehicle, you can upgrade your travel insurance to include up to $50,000 for rental car damage. You can add the option to cancel the trip for any reason and be reimbursed up to 75 percent of the total cost of the trip. If you bring sports equipment, you can add optional coverage for $1,000 per person. Also, there is optional coverage for delayed sporting equipment. It covers up to $250 per person after a six-hour delay.
