Please note that Generali Global Assistance plans are currently offered on TravelInsurance.com under the CSA Travel Protection brand. Later this year, we will be replacing CSA Travel Protection plans with Generali Global Assistance plan counterparts.
Generali Global Assistance has over 25 years of experience as a travel insurance and assistance provider. The company was formerly known as CSA Travel Protection. Travel insurance plans offered by Generali Global Assistance include access to a large network of service providers to ensure the best possible support. The travel insurance provider is part of the Assicurazioni Generali Group, which is one of the largest insurance companies in the world.
1. Easy Quotes – Travelers can easily get a quote on each of the three plans on TravelInsurance.com by entering their travel destination, date of travel, trip cost, age, and state of residence into our easy to use quote form. The quote shows a side-by-side comparison of each plan so that travelers are well-informed of the coverage each plan includes.
2. Each Plan Comes with a Free Look Period – All travelers can cancel their insurance plan within 10 days of purchase for a full refund. Plans should be purchased several weeks ahead of the trip if possible because the free look period is only valid when the trip hasn’t started yet (and if the traveler hasn’t filed a claim).
3. Industry Leader in Assistance Services – If travelers have an emergency at any time during their trip, they can contact Generali’s 24-Hour Emergency Assistance Services for immediate help. In addition, every plan includes access to Teladoc. Teladoc is a network of physicians licensed in the U.S. that can assist travelers if they need information about medical advice, treatment, and prescription medication.
The Plans Offered
Generali Global Assistance has three different plans available to travelers. The three plans give travelers the ability to select a plan that is both affordable for them and fits needs of their trip. Some travelers embarking on exotic trips may need more coverage, while others may need just the bare minimum.
Standard – The Standard Plan is the lowest priced plan and includes trip cancellation, trip interruption, baggage delay, medical and dental coverage, and assistance services. If a trip is canceled, 100% of the trip cost is covered for specific covered reasons. This plan also covers up to $1,000 per person for lost baggage and $200 per person for baggage delays. Medical and dental are covered up to $50,000 per person and emergency assistance and transportation is covered up to $250,000 per person.
Preferred – The Preferred Plan is ideal for travelers looking for more coverage than the Standard plan offers. This plan covers up to $1,500 in sporting equipment and an extra $300 in sporting equipment delay. The rest of the Preferred Plan is similar to the Standard Plan, just with increased coverage amounts and coverage for Accidental Death & Dismemberment (Travel Accident) coverage.
Premium – The Premium plan is intended for more expensive travel and offers the highest coverage. This plan includes $25,000 in rental car damage per person and allows for coverage for pre-existing medical conditions (if the traveler meets certain requirements). In addition, 75% of the trip cost is insured if the trip is canceled for “any reason” provided that travelers purchase the extra add-on. This plan offers similar benefits to the Preferred plan but with higher coverage levels.
